PAHKA PENDANT LAMP
Pahka is a pendant lamp inspired by geometrical forms, contrasts and asymmetry.
Pahka pendant lamp is the result of a design project at Carl Malmsten Furniture Studies. The assignment was to create something out of a two-dimensional geometrical form which in my case was a trapezoid. The conical shades are made of 1mm thick birch plywood and lit up by use of LED lights. The transparent orange glow was achieved by soaking the plywood in linseed oil. ”Pahka” is the Finnish word for a burl on a tree which resembles the bond between the cones.
